Water Saving Tips from SAWS

image Replace old water-wasting washing machines and dishwashers. Newer, water-efficient models now come with half-load features.
image Place a stopper in the sink for washing and rinsing pots, pans, and dishes.
image Don't let the water run while you clean vegetables. Instead rinse them in a sink full of water.
image Scrape dishes clean instead of rinsing them before washing.
image Don't do partial loads! Fill up the dishwasher before you run it through a cycle.
image Keep a bottle of drinking water in the fridge and use ice so you won't have to run the tap to cool it.
image Use the garbage disposal sparingly or start a compost pile.
image Insulate your water heater and pipes.
