About: Chris Park opened in 2005 to celebrate the life of Christopher Goldsbury, the son of late philanthropist Linda Pace. The park features native, exotic plants, walkways, sites of play, and local art.

The San Antonio Missions National Historical Park is made up of four Missions: Concepion, San Juan, San Jose, and Espada. 

All four sites still contain active catholic parishes and churches offer regular services. Click Here to contact the historical churches.

Dedicated in 1755, Mission Concepción has hardly changed. It stands proudly as the oldest unrestored stone church in America.

About: 

San José y San Miguel de Aguayo is the the largest out of the Missions. San José  is known as the "Queen of the Missions."

About: 

Originally founded in 1716 in eastern Texas, Mission San Juan Capistrano was transferred in 1731 to its present location. In 1756, the stone church, a friary, and a granary were completed. A larger church was begun, but was abandoned when half complete, the result of population decline.

Mission San Francisco de la Espada was the first mission in Texas, founded in 1690 as San Francisco de los Tejas near present-day Weches, Texas. And north of Mission Espada is the Espada Aqueduct, which was constructed in 1745 by Franciscans to serve Mission Espada and the surrounding area.

The Alamo is Open for Peak Season Hours: 9AM - 7PM. When visiting the Alamo be prepared to wait outside in line. I suggest wearing loose-fit clothing and comfortable shoes during the summer hours. Also sunscreen! 

Be aware that photography is not permitted inside the Alamo Church or Long Barrack Museum. If you are looking to photograph the Alamo for commercial purposes please email info@thealamo.org.

San Antonio has enjoyed it's River for over 200 years! Recently, in 2011, the city approved Improvements that will link the River Walk to 2,020 acres of public land with the River running through it. That is larger that the 3 most popular public parks (Central Park in NYC, Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, and The Chicago lakeside parks!)

History of San Pedro:

The San Pedro Branch Library opened on August 5, 1930. It was the first branch library built in San Antonio and the only one built in a public park, San Pedro Springs Park, the oldest municipal park in Texas and the second oldest in the USA after Boston Commons.
