Billy Joe “Red” McCombs is a Texas billionaire currently on the Forbes 400 list of richest Americans. He is the founder of the Red McCombs Automotive Group, a co-founder of Clear Channel Communications and the namesake of the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. McCombs is also the former owner of several professional sports teams including the San Antonio Spurs, Denver Nuggets and the Minnesota Vikings. McCombs and his wife, Charlene, have contributed more than $125 million to various civic and philanthropic causes, both in San Antonio and around the state.
