Tom C. Frost, Jr., (1927-2018), a local fourth generation banker and chairman emeritus of Cullen/Frost Bankers Inc., was not only a renowned business leader but also a philanthropist and passionate advocate of education.  He believed education was essential for economic growth and his leadership extended into such causes as the bond issue for the San Antonio Independent School District and UTSA’s development board.  As a result of his belief in the need for education, Frost received honorary doctorates from numerous institutions.  His support and influence can also be felt in other areas throughout the city, places such as the McNay Art Museum, San Antonio Symphony, HemisFair ’68 and the South Texas Medical Center.
