Music has been a part of Virginia Cegelski Kane's life for as long as she can remember. Born and raised in San Antonio, she studied music and dance as a young girl and was a member of San Antonio's Junior Tuesday Musical Club. At the age of 12, she won a Tuesday Musical Club prize for her skilled performance of Beethoven's Sonatina in F Major. Before meeting her husband, Colonel Francis "Duke" Kane, she graduated from Our Lady of the Lake High School and College, as well as New York's Julliard School of Music. Kane started the Crown Ridge Music Academy and Crown Ridge Music Club which still adjudicates 600 students every year.
