San Antonio Public Library ( SAPL) is a Patent and Trademark Resource Center (PTRC) of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
As a PTRC, SAPL has both human and technical resources including various searching tools to help inventors in San Antonio and surrounding areas. The Library is open to the public, and there is no charge to use the materials.
Patent searches are generally very time-consuming, and can be somewhat daunting. It is highly recommended that you make an appointment. This is especially true if this is your first search.
San Antonio Public library has three trained Patent and Trademark librarians available to offer assistance by appointment only. However, individuals must perform their own patent searches. Staff are not available to perform searches for individuals, and cannot give legal advice.
Please review this video presentation Conducting a Preliminary Patent Search at a Patent and Trademark Depository Library before your appointment.
