FAQs for SAPL Writers

Q: What is SAPL Writer's group?
A: A community-created virtual writing group that will focus on a variety of literary genres each month. Genres include short stories, screenwriting, songwriting, poetry...you name it! Suggestions are always welcome as this virtual group is open to all.

Q: Cool! How do I participate?
A: We meet up on Zoom from 2PM-3PM CST on the last Saturday of each month. To participate, sign up each month via SAPL's calendar. Once you’re registered, we will personally email you a link to the Discord channel where SAPL staff will be on to chat or answer questions. You will get a link to the Zoom chat emailed to you the day of the event.

Q: What do I need?
A: Internet access, a Discord account (you will get an invite to the SAPL Writers Discord Channel when you sign up), and a device to type on like a computer, tablet, or cell phone. Zoom will be the platform for our monthly meet-ups.

Q: What is the Monthly Challenge?
A: Every month, we will focus on a different style of writing in an effort to engage and challenge ourselves. With your permission, your submission could be published in our quarterly Writers Zine.

Q: Do I have to participate in the Monthly Challenge?
A: No. Work on whatever you like and we would love to hear what you have to share!
