Interlibrary Loan and Texshare are two free methods available to obtain items that San Antonio Public Library does not own.
Interlibrary Loan is recommended in cases when:
- You'd rather not travel to another library in person.
- You don't mind waiting a few weeks for your items to arrive.
- The item you need is within the United States, but not nearby.
- You'd rather pick up and drop off the item you borrowed at your local SAPL branch.
Texshare is recommended in cases when:
- You really need the item as soon as possible.
- You are willing to travel to another library to pick the item up.
- You don't mind traveling to return the item to the library that lent it to you.
