For the past couple of years Bazan Library has hosted a community based altar in which visitor's can add their own items to. This ofrenda (altar) includes decorated sugar skulls, a life size pan de muerto (day of the dead bread) and pictures added by library staff and the local community.

The community ofrenda at Cortez Library host pictures and images of loved ones and pets. Marigolds of various colors decorate the altar and a colorful papel picado garland surrounds the pictures.

This ofrenda is located in Texana's temporary space on the first floor of the Central Library across from the Ciruculation desk.
Texana's operating hours are: Tuesday from 12-8 and Wednesday through Saturday from 10 am - 6 pm. Texana is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
