Architects and Architecture of the San Pedro Branch Library
Architects and Architecture of the San Pedro Branch Library features retired local architect Paul Kinnison, Jr. whose firm designed the major renovation and historical restoration of the library in 2006-2007. Mr. Kinnison has a unique connection to the building's original architects Atlee and Robert Ayres, the father and son team responsible for many buildings and homes in San Antonio and beyond. He discusses the design elements of the original library and the work of renovating and restoring what was then a 77 year old building to its former glory, as well as highlighting the legacy of Ayres and Ayres architecture in the area.
One of the unique aspects of the San Pedro Branch Library is that it resides on the grounds of the historical San Pedro Springs Park. The City of San Antonio Parks & Recreation department joins SAPL in celebration the San Pedro Branch Library by sharing these wonderful activity instruction videos. Enjoy!
