Children's Award Books

Within the last 100 years or so, various organizations have chosen to honor outstanding books written for young people. Each award highlights the finest book within a particular category or which reflects a particular theme. Most are awarded annually.

About the Caldecott Medal

The Caldecott Medal was named for nineteenth-century English illustrator Randolph Caldecott. It is awarded annually by the Association for Library Service to Children to the illustrator of the most distinguished children's picture book.
