Children's Award Books

Within the last 100 years or so, various organizations have chosen to honor outstanding books written for young people. Each award highlights the finest book within a particular category or which reflects a particular theme. Most are awarded annually.

The 2x2 is a list of recommended books for children age two to grade two to encourage voluntary reading. It is a project of the Texas Library Association, Children's Round Table.

2x2 List for 2023

Each year, the 2x2 Committee publishes a list of recommended books for children age 2 through the grade 2.  This is the list for 2023.
