Igo Branch Library will temporarily close starting Monday, August 5 to replace the library's Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems and complete additional interior improvements. Select interim services will be available on-site.
The Johnston Branch Library is currently closed for renovations. Interim services are offered out of Miller's Pond Community Center.
Pan American Branch Library will temporarily close starting Monday, August 5 to replace the library's Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems and complete additional interior improvements. Select interim services will be available on-site.
The Pruitt Library at Roosevelt High School offers curbside service during school hours and complete library services outside of school hours. Please visit the library's location page for more information and current schedule.
While the 6th floor of Central Library is closed for renovations, the Texana/Genealogy Department is offering services on the 1st floor across from the main information desk.
Portions of the third floor Children’s Library at Central Library are temporarily unavailable due to maintenance. The area undergoing maintenance will be closed until further notice. During this time, portions of our children’s collection at Central Library will also be unavailable, including:
🚫 Children’s fiction (hardback chapter books)
🚫 Children’s non-fiction (informational books)
🚫 Some Spanish-language children’s books (libros infantiles en español)
Selected items from these closed areas are available for browsing near the Children's information desk.
Programs will continue as scheduled. The rest of the 3rd floor of Central Library is open and accessible, including:

✅ Children’s Spanish easy, beginner, board, and picture books
✅ Children’s graphic novel
✅ Children’s periodicals
✅ Children’s Express (new and popular materials)
✅ Paperback children’s chapter book series
✅ Children’s biographies
✅ Children’s large print, Braille, and Audiobooks
✅ Early learners play area
✅ Children’s information desk
✅ Children’s computers
✅ Teen Library
No other areas of Central Library are affected by this maintenance.
