¡Bienvenido de nuevo! The Las Palmas Branch Library is scheduled to reopen this fall following a transformative $7 million renovation project funded by the City of San Antonio 2017 and 2022 Bond programs with additional funding through the San Antonio Public Library Foundation.
Las Palmas will reopen to the public for service beginning November 17 at noon. A Grand Reopening Celebration will take place at the library on December 6 at 10 am. This free, public event will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony, family-friendly activities, refreshments, and community-centered entertainment. The final day for interim library service from Our Lady of the Lake University will be November 10.

Extensive improvements at Las Palmas include:
Complete renovation of the existing Las Palmas Branch Library including paint, flooring, lighting, furniture, technology, building systems, roof, and more
2,000 square foot expansion housing the new H-E-B Community Room
Renovated and relocated Teen and Children’s areas
New Learn at SAPL Adult Education service area
Technology upgrades to the community meeting room, children’s area and computer lab
Major improvements to customer service areas
New monument sign with digital marquee to increase visibility to the public and provide opportunities to promote public programs and services
Restroom renovations
Refreshed collection
Starting November 17 see all the Library has to offer and reconnect with friends and neighbors at your new Las Palmas Branch Library.
San Antonio City Council District 5 and the Metro Health Department operate offices out of space adjacent to the renovated Las Palmas Branch Library.
