Landa Library 75th Anniversary: Celebration Programs and Activities

To celebrate Landa's 75th Anniversary, we are hosting a Garden Party like no other! Join us for a special morning ceremony followed by lawn games, crafts, activities, live music, light refreshments, and more!

Commemorative Program

We'll start the festivities with a formal speaking ceremony at 10 a.m. featuring special guests from the Library, City of San Antonio, and more!

Tours of Historic Landa Branch

Join Branch Manager Kiyanna Stephens on a unique historical walking tour of Landa Branch Library. Learn the history of the Library's namesake, Hannah Mansfeld Landa, and the unique story behind how this ornate mansion became one of San Antonio's most unique public spaces.

These 20-minute tours will meet in front of the Library at 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, and 1:30. Please note this walking tour may require going up and down stairs. 10 people max per tour.

Live Music

We'll have live music at the Valero Energy Pavilion behind Landa Branch Library throughout the day.

1:00 pm - St. Anthony Catholic High School Mariachi Band

Fun Family Games and Crafts

  • Hang out with our librarians and make unique crafts and takeaways
  • Cozy up with a book in one of our Little Read Wagon Reading Tents

  • Challenge your friends to a game of cornhole or giant Jenga
  • Learn about the history of Landa with an outdoor exhibition
