Discord provides a fantastic amount of support to help new communities establish their servers - and there are several other resources that provide further customization options. When you're ready to start, check out the following resources from Discord:

• Beginner's Guide to Discord: information about servers and how to use text and voice channels
   
• How to Use Discord for Your Classroom: information about server creation, role management, and server invitations (related to classrooms, but applicable to libraries)
• How to Set Up a Private Server: how to restrict access to a server / channels to specific people
• Rules Screening FAQ: how to set up rules that new members must explicitly agree to before they can interact
   
• Discord Safety Center: information about Discord's principles and policies for safety and privacy
• Discord Moderator Academy: information about server moderation and community management
• Discord Help Center: for general assistance and other questions

As you recruit staff and/or teen volunteers to serve as moderators, consider requiring everyone on your team - staff and volunteers - to read through the Discord Safety Center and go through the Discord Moderator Academy modules.
